Man charged with attempted murder for North Knoxville shooting

Knoxville police arrested a man for allegedly shooting a woman in her North Knoxville house.

Officers responded to a shooting call on 218 West Churchwell Avenue on Tuesday shortly before 3:15 p.m.

Lindalle Monholland, 47, told police a man entered her house and fired several shots; one of them struck her in the shoulder.

Crews drove her to UT Medical Center for surgery, and officials expect her to survive.

Minutes after the incident, an officer pulled over the suspect's vehicle and took him in for questioning.  Authorities later charged the alleged shooter, 22-year-old Adam F. Moates of Kingston with attempted first degree murder.

He's booked in the Knox County Jail on a $1 million bond.

(WBIR, Knoxville) A North Knoxville woman is recovering after police say a man went into her house Tuesday afternoon and shot her.

It happened on West Churchwell Avenue, just after 3 p.m.

Police say the man fired several shots and hit the woman in the chest area once.

She was transported to a local hospital, and is expected to survive.

A man is being questioned in connection with the shooting.
