Last week the state board of education approved a new plan for how teachers will be paid.
The measure changes the way teachers get raises and eliminates pay incentives for teachers who have master's and doctorate degrees. The plan gives districts the ability to choose how to differentiate pay.
State officials say it gives districts more ability to create pay plans that suit their individual needs. But teachers say the plan will cost them money.
