(WBIR- Knoxville) With a week left until the Fourth of July, the City of Knoxville got the party started in Downtown Knoxville Thursday night by hosting a patriotic festival on Market Square.
The festival featured live music and entertainment for all ages, but the highlight was a patriotic bike ride through downtown. It was all a way to stay active and celebrate the fourth a little early.
"It's important to keep our families active downtown, keep people coming here and we feel activities like this just enhance the square," said Judith Foltz, director of special events.
Kids decorated their bikes in red, white and blue to compete in the best decorated bike contest.
