(WBIR - Knoxville) Construction delays on the Henley bridge project didn't stop a business off Chapman Highway from throwing a party.
McLemore Florist originally planned Saturday's Bugs and Blooms event as a way to celebrate the reopening of the Henley bridge.
However, when delays indefinitely pushed back the end of the project the business off Chapman highway decided to celebrate anyway.
"We're not waiting on the bridge to open. We're not really counting on the bridge. But we use this weekend to bring everything together...just to bring attention to that fact that the bridge is still closed up, but you can still get to South Knoxville. We're still here. We're still open, and we're excited about South Knoxville," Jeff Christian from McLemore Florist said.
And the excitement on Saturday could be seen in front of the store with many Volkswagen "bugs" on display, food and live music to join in the fun.
