KY man dies after being struck by train

Kentucky State Police said Tuesday that Rodney Bolin, 44, of Evarts, died of his injuries Monday evening.  The condition of his 9-year-old son has not been released.

A Kentucky man and his son are hospitalized after the pickup truck he was driving was hit by a train.

According to Kentucky State Police, the accident happened Sunday just after 10:30 am at the CSX crossing in the Cawood Community of Harlan County.

Investigators say the Rodney Bolin, 44, of Evarts, was driving a 2011 Nissan Frontier and was crossing the train tracks when a train struck the truck in the driver's side.  Bolin was airlifted to Holsten Valley Medical Center.  His 9-year-old son was a passenger in the truck. He was airlifted to Johnson City Hospital.  We do not have an update on their current conditions.
