Four people from Blount County are facing charges after a deadly boat accident in March.

Cory Smith, Chelsea Briggs, Eric Morgan and Stephen Parker are all charged with interfering with the investigation into the accident that killed 25-year-old Eddie Russell. Smith is also charged with joyriding.

Tennessee wildlife officials say Russell, Smith, Morgan and Parker were canoeing in Tellico Lake when the boat capsized near the Harrison Branch boat ramp. Smith and Parker swam to shore. Morgan stayed with the canoe and was rescued. Briggs witnessed the accident. Russell's body was found the next day.

TWRA officials say there were no personal flotation devices on the canoe.
