(WBIR-Gatlinburg) Thousands of people lined the streets for the 38th annual Gatlinburg Parade Wednesday at midnight.
More than a dozen floats, along with bands, marched through downtown. The celebration also featured members of the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard.
"If you ask me, Fourth of July should be celebrated everyday," said SSgt. Christopher Benfield. "And it's great to see some enthusiasm and patriotism, especially in these tough times."
Participants were encouraged to show how many years they've been in the service.
