(WBIR - Knoxville) After rain spoiled their original Independence Day plans, two East Tennessee town tried again on Saturday.
Clinton and Athens rescheduled their fireworks shows for this weekend. Despite even more rain, both shows still had their performances.
The bad weather even helped some businesses, as spectators were waiting for the show to begin.
"I guess with the rain and everything, they're having to find indoor activities to keep them busy. And thankfully we have all these great antique stores down the street here," said Rachel Bean with the Sweet Cafe in Clinton.
Both shows' organizers claim the only weather elements that could have cancelled their show were lightning or thunder in the area.
