(WBIR-Lancing, Tn) An East Tennessee man is in the hospital after a car slammed into his home.
It happened just a little before 4 p.m. in the Morgan County community of Lancing.
The car hit the house while two people were inside. According to family members and THP, one man was not hurt and walked away.
But, Lifestar was called to take the other man, Billy Patton, 66, to UT Medical Center. Troopers said they believe he will survive.
His daughter, Amanda Dalton was one of the first people on the scene.
"I was sitting in my living room and I heard a big crash and I was running and there was a car in their house," she said.
Dalton said the car completely destroyed their TV room, before damaging the living room and a bedroom.
"I was more worried about making sure that everybody was okay, rather than that car being in the house," she said.
The Morgan County Rescue Squad members temporarily stabilized the house so construction crews could eventually go in to make repairs after the incident.
"We got on scene and helped extricate the victim," he said. "The one that was trapped and got him into the Lifestar."
Authorities say it's not the first time they've seen a vehicle hit a house, but Monday's wreck is still memorable.
They said both the driver and the passenger in that incident were unharmed.
THP said the driver was cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle.
