The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will be looking into robocalls that asked voters their opinions of State Senator Stacey Campfield said a TBI spokesman Thursday morning.

The spokesman told 10News she expects Knox County District Attorney General Randy Nichols to contact the agency today about the calls.

The calls were made in late June in the Knoxville area.

They were an opinion survey focused on Stacey Campfield. This is a portion of the message:

"Hello, this is Citizen's Opinion Research and we are conducting a quick, one-minute survey about State Senator Stacey Campfield. Please indicate your response to the question by pressing the corresponding number on your phone."

Both Senator Campfield and his opponent, Dr. Richard Briggs, told 10News they were not behind the calls.
