(WBIR - Farragut) TDOT, along with Knox County, are considering a road expansion in Farragut to help ease traffic.
TDOT says it wants to expand a section of Concord Road from two lanes to four lanes between Turkey Creek Road to Northshore Drive, also known as State Road 332. That stretch of Concord Road is the only section with only two lanes.
TDOT spokesperson Mark Nagi says by expanding Concord to four lanes, it will help alleviate traffic flow and make it safer to drive on in general.
Perhaps the biggest obstacle in the way of the expansion is building around the railroad that runs along Northshore Drive.
The proposal is set to be discussed at the Knox County Commission meeting this coming Monday.
