(WBIR - Anderson Co.) A bridge in Anderson County is closed with no time frame for reopening.

TDOT inspects all bridges every two years and determined the Johnson Gap Road bridge is unsafe.

According to the county roads superintendent, the problem is deteriorating support beams under the wooden structure.

This bridge is owned the CSX railroad company.

Until the bridge reopens, drivers will need to take detours along highway 25W or take Sulfer Springs about a mile west of the bridge.
