Walland woman killed in Blount County wreck

Update Sunday 5 p.m.:
(WBIR - Blount County) The Blount County Sheriff's Office has confirmed a Walland woman was killed Sunday morning after crashing into a tree on Wildwood Road.

Sheriff James Lee Berrong said Tabitha Michelle Houser, 33, was dead at the scene.

A release from the BCSO stated that Houser was driving a 1997 Dodge Ram pick-up truck heading northwest on Wildwood Road near the intersection of North Wildwood Road around 10:30 Sunday morning. After her vehicle went off the right side of the road, authorities said Houser overcorrected sending her truck into a field eventually striking a tree before landing in a creek.

Authorities said Houser was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident and the airbags did deploy.

(WBIR - Blount County) One person died Sunday after a car crash off of Wildwood Road in Blount County.

Officials told 10News a female victim was killed after her car ran off the road. 

Authorities said there were no other passengers in the car.

The victim's name has yet to be released.
