(WBIR - Greene County) Some of the U.S.'s best amateur golfers on Sunday wrapped up the AAU Golf National Championships.

This year's tournament was held for the second time at Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville.

One of AAU's national co-chairs, Bob Harper, said more than 50 players from 6 different states came to compete for the championship.

The players are organized by age groups and range from 6 to 18 years old.

Austin Swafford, 18, from Lebanon hit the links for his second championship.

He shot 4-under par on Sunday and said he plans to continue playing golf in college next year at UT-Martin.

"I'm kind of a competitive person, so it's great to play in these tournaments. It's taught me a lot about life, not just sports. I've been playing it since I was 3, and it's justa great game to me," Swafford said.
