(WBIR - North Knoxville) Knoxville Police say a man who was found dead ina truck parked at Fountain City Lake last week likely died of a medical condition.
The man was identified as Steven Dorris, 43, of Michigan. Invesigators say he had a long history of medical problems, and there were no signs of foul play.
KPD says Dorris was on his way from Michigan to Nevada, and had driven through Knoxville to visit a friend. He had lived in Knoxville in the past.
A body was discovered Sunday afternoon in a pickup truck parked behind the Fountain City Lake on North Broadway in North Knoxville, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
A release from KPD stated witnesses were eating lunch at the pond around 2:45 p.m. Sunday when they walked by the truck and saw a man lying facedown on the truck's cab floor.
The witnesses then flagged down a Fire Department truck that was in the area.
Authorities said officers found the body of a 43-year-old white male that appeared to have been dead for several hours. The body had no obvious wounds or signs of trauma.
The body was taken to UT Medical Examiner's office for follow up.
The victim's name is being withheld pending notifcation of the victim's next of kin.
