A Vonore man is facing charges in McMinn County after officers found him with meth and he gave them a candy bar as a form of identification.
Travis Giles, 35, is charged with drug possession and tampering with evidence.
According to court documents, deputies went to the Rocky Top Shell station on Tennessee Avenue in Etowah after someone called 9-1-1 about a possible drunk person inside a car in the parking lot.
Officers found Giles inside his car and asked him if he was okay. He didn't respond, so they asked Giles for his ID. Giles handed him a "Pay Day" candy bar.
A pat-down search of Giles turned up two plastic bags of meth and a syringe. The deputy asked Giles to take off his shoe and Giles grabbed the meth and took off running. Another deputy tased Giles about 10 feet away and they arrested him.
