A woman died from injuries she sustained during a fire at the home on June 7th.
(WBIR - Knoxville, TN) More than one month after a fatal fire at a home on Hammer Road in East Knox County, the same property caught fire once again Friday morning.
According to Rural/Metro Fire Chief Jerry Harnish, crews received the first call for help just before 6am Friday. Harnish said first-responders immediately went into "defensive-mode" due to the intensity of the fire. He also said they were not able to enter the home.
The home at 7215 Hammer Road was already inhabitable after the original fire. Rural/Metro said that fact makes the latest fire there "curious" at best. Arson investigators are expected to be called in.
