(WBIR) The "Spirit of Nations-American Indian Pow Wow and Heritage Festival" gave visitors a look at the past on Saturday while keeping an eye on the future.
Part of the festival's tradition included dance as a form of expression and prayer.
Sherry Finchum said they do it because it's what they love.
"Pow Wow Dancing is from your heart," Finchum said, "It's deep inside of you, and the drum represents the heart beat. And so when you enter into the circle, it's a sacred activity for the native people."
