Investigators now believe an unidentified body found in Hancock County was a woman who has been missing since the end of July.
Kelly Johnson Lee, 35, was last seen at her mother's home on July 27.
On Monday, August 12, the investigation led officers to a remote, wooded area of Hancock County, where the body was discovered.
Sheriff Leamon Maxey says Lee's estranged husband, Richard W. Lee, Jr., 39, of Russellville, has been charged with second degree murder in her death. He is being held in the Hancock County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
The TBI and Hamblen County Sheriff's Office are working with Hancock County on the investigation.
The Hancock County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a body was discovered in a remote section of the county.
The body was found around 1:00 pm on Monday. Investigators have not determined the identity of the person. The body has been sent to the ETSU William L. Jenkins Forensic Center in Johnson City for positive identification.
