People living around the Y-12 Security Complex should expect to hear public alarms Wednesday morning during a planned Emergency Management Exercise.
No time was given in a press release from B&W Y-12 for the morning exercise.
Several agencies will participate in the safety drill including the National Nuclear Security Administration, B&W Y-12, and federal, state and local emergency management personnel.
In addition to the sirens, people may hear an Emergency Alert System test message on local radio stations.
The Department of Energy facilities regularly conduct these tests.
