(WBIR, Alcoa) - Alcoa Inc. is selling special centennial cans of water Friday to commemorate 100 years of operations in Tennessee.

Cans are only available to the public and employees until 4:00 pm on Friday, August 16th.

Company officials say for several years now Alcoa has donated around 86,000 cans of water to non-profit organizations, but the cans have never been offered to the public.

Officials say this is in response to so many people who have asked if they can buy the cans.

"It is a popular demand thing. We've been in this community for 100 years, and with this can a lot of people want to save it so they can keep it around for 100 years to share with their grandkids. So it's something that we really want to share with the community," said Deborah Huddleston, a communications intern at Alcoa Inc.

Cans will be sold from 6am to 9am and from 12pm to 4pm.
