(WBIR - Knox County) Ten teams put their cardboard boats to the test on Saturday while helping to raise funds for clean water projects.

The boats, made of cardboard, duct tape, and glue, had to race from one end of the Karns Lions Community Pool to the other.

Money raised at the event will help support Knox ProCorps' which helps impoverished communities obtain clean drinking water, according to event organizer Larry Davis.

The daring crew members also competed for a variety of awards including: fastest time, most creative design, most dramatic sinking and crowd favorite.
