(WBIR - Dandridge) An East Tennessee community has been deemed the "Best Small Town on the Water" by Life on the Water Magazine.
Dandridge, in Jefferson County, formally accepted the honor Saturday. The town beat out hundreds of other Southern towns in the competition.
Life on the Water said Dandridge was very passionate about getting the title. The magazine said it is evident the town is a regional attraction.
Adele Sensing, the director of tourism for the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, said this will help Dandridge further advance its brand across the country.
"Looking at it from an economic development standpoint, this is an amazing accomplishment," she said.
Dandridge will be featured in Life on the Water's fall issue this September.
You can get that at Barnes and Nobles and Books-A-Million locations.
