(WBIR - Bell County, KY.) The city of Pineville held a surprise celebration on Saturday evening to welcome back Jimmy Rose, who's moving on to the next round of NBC's America's Got Talent.
The Pineville High School gymnasium was packed with supporters who came out to congratulate Rose on Saturday.
Clips of his America's Got Talent performances were shown to the crowds and he even performed alongside his brother for the crowd.
Rose performed earlier this week live on the network show from Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Then, on Tuesday he found out he would be moving on to the semi-final round.
10News talked with Rose shortly after Saturday night's celebration about what his experience was like this week in New York City.
Rose said it was overwhelming in a good way and he found himself rather emotional when the results were read.
"You know, I'm a United States Marine Corps veteran and a country boy and I consider myself to be pretty strong but when you get those results and the official word that you're moving on to the next round it's hard to contain that. I almost lost it there, had to grab myself real quick. You know, I'm human. It's just an overwhelming experience and emotional feeling and I think the world will see that," Rose said.
Jimmy can't officially say when he'll be appearing next on America's Got Talent, but he'll be on once the show starts its semi-finals round.
