The stigma oftentimes attached with mental illness keeps many young people from talking about it, but a new social media campaign hopes to change that.
Mental health is an issue that impacts millions of people in the country, especially young people.
According to mentalhealth.gov, half of all mental disorders show their first signs before a person turns 14 years old, and three-quarters of mental health disorders begin before age 24. But less than 20 percent of young people are actually getting the help they need.
Those statistics helped spark a place where young people can add their own voice to mental health by sharing quotes, photos, videos and messages of support in safe place. It's a tumblr-based community called ok2talk.org.
