The big race isn't until this weekend, but Wednesday thousands of East Tennesseans got a chance to meet Trevor Bayne and some of the other biggest names in NASCAR at the Food City Race Night.
Fans enjoyed food, drinks and music at the Knoxville Expo Center. Everyone from local racers to NASCAR's finest was on hand to sign autographs and other memorabilia for fans.
One organizer says that type of experience is what it's all about.
"You can get out and touch those drivers that you see on TV all the time. It's a fantastic thing. Where else do you have an opportunity to meet those kinds of drivers?," said Food City VP of Marketing Ron Bonacci.
Food City expects about 60,0000 fans to show up to the race night on State Street in Bristol on Thursday.
The Irwin Tools night race is this Saturday at Bristol Motor speedway.
