A jury has found a Greene County man guilty of killing his police officer father.
The incident stemmed from a shooting in March 2010. Ethan Self admitted to firing his father's gun and hitting his father, Greeneville Police Sergeant Roger Self, in the head.
The defense claimed Roger Self was an abusive father and husband.
The 21-year old-declined to testify during the trial. A judge sentenced him to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors say Self must serve at least 51 years before he is eligible.
