(WBIR) After a long wait, football season is back in East Tennessee. It kicked off Friday night with local high school players hitting the field.

Football season is a time of the year fans love because of the environment it creates.

Mike Campbell of Knoxville said, "A lot of adrenaline. It's exciting and it's fun-filled. It's a great experience for everybody involved."

Football fans filled stadiums across East Tennessee watching the players tackle each other as they go for the goal. But not all fans go to the games to see what happens on the field. Some enjoy what happens off the field.

Sharon Brock of Powell said, "I love it. I think it's great. I love the band most of all because I'm a band mom."

The combination of good games and great music makes for an awesome environment that fans love.
