Ijams Nature Center

Gone (Jelly)Fishin' Canoe Trip at Ijams (Ages 5 and up) Did you know that there are freshwater jellyfish in the quarry lake? It' true! These small, nickel-sized jellyfish are only visible in the heat of summer, so join naturalist Stephen Lyn Bales for a canoe exploration of the quarry lake and we'll see if we can find them! The fee for this program is $15 per person for members and $17.50 per person for non-members. Pre-registration is required; please call (865) 577-4717, ext. 119 to register.

Blueslip Winery

The Boomsday Festival will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2013 along Neyland Drive at Volunteer Landing. The day will feature delicious food, contests, a Family Fun Zone featuring inflatables, and the nation's largest Labor Day weekend fireworks show.
1 p.m. - 10 p.m. - Neyland Drive and Volunteer Landing in downtown Knoxville. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Free for the fireworks show.
