Candidates already lining up for open Knox commission seats

(WBIR-Knoxville) Knox County's general election is still about a year away, but candidates are already lining up for some available positions.

Michele Carringer and Bob Thomas appointed treasurers to run for the commission-at-large seat currently held by Mike Hammond. He is term limited and can't run again.

Bo Bennett appointed a treasurer to run for commission in district seven, the seat currently held by R. Larry Smith, who is also term-limited.

Candidates can pick up a nominating petition to run in the Knox County primary election starting November 22nd. They must qualify by February 20th of next year.

The county primary is set for May 6th, with the general election on August 7th.
