(WBIR-Knoxville) The Vols finally kick of their season Saturday in Neyland Stadium.  It's a highly anticipated game, as the Butch Jones era begins on Rocky Top.

Here's what you need to know if you are heading to the game!


It will be hot and humid on Saturday!  Fans should wear light clothing and drink plenty of water.  Don't forget the sunscreen!

Tonight on 10News at 6- we'll show you which seats will be in the shade at kickoff!


Game day parking on campus is reserved for people with passes. 

You can pay to park in lots all around campus, particularly in the Fort Sanders neighborhood.  A free shuttle is available from the Ag Campus.

You can also park for free in many city-owned garages in downtown Knoxville (Civic Coliseum, Old City and Market Square), and take a KAT bus to the stadium for $6 round-trip.  See a downtown parking map here.

Eight buses run from Farragut High School off Campbell Station Road to Neyland Stadium at a round-trip cost of $16 per person starting three hours before kickoff.

Gameday activities

The Vol Walk is set for 3:45 pm.  The team's traditional walk to the stadium begins at the Torchbearer statue in Circle Park on Volunteer Drive. It continues down Peyton Manning Pass before turning left on Phillip Fulmer Way and into the stadium through Gate 21A

The Pride of the Southland Marching Band will march to the stadium at 4:20 pm.  The band marches up Volunteer Boulevard to Andy Holt Avenue and then onto Phillip Fulmer Way, stopping along the way to "Salute the Hill" before marching into the stadium through Gate 21.

Volunteer Village opens 3 1/2 hours before all home football games in Humanities Plaza.  There are games, live bands, pre-game appearances from the UT spirit squads.

Gates to Neyland Stadium open at 4:00 pm.

Kickoff is set for 6:07 pm.

What you can't bring to the stadium

A number of items are not allowed in Neyland Stadium.  New this year, UT will strictly enforce the "no backpacks" rule, no matter the size of the bag.

Prohibited items:
¦Backpacks (of any size)
¦Alcoholic beverages
¦Cans, bottles, coolers
¦Outside food, snacks, beverages
¦Radios without headsets
¦Open umbrellas
¦Video cameras
¦Stadium seats with arms
¦Large bags or parcels, including backpacks and larger purses
¦Weapons, including pocket knives
¦Artificial noisemakers
¦Smoking is prohibited in Neyland Stadium at all times
¦Bag sizes greater than 12x12x12 (except for medical or diaper bags, which will be searched)
