After months of delays, new recreation fields are now open for use in West Knoxville.
Chancellor Jimmy Cheek officially opened the 38-acre complex on Sutherland Avenue on Friday. It caps a two-year construction project, and more than doubles the recreational space for UT students.
"I would say it's one of the premier places in the entire country because it's one location, 38 acres and it can accommodate many different activities at the same time," said Chancellor Cheek.
The fields aren't open to the public, only students enrolled at UT
