(WBIR - Roane County) An East Tennessee community on Saturday used the power of gospel music to raise funds to help pay for a child's medical bills.

Back in July, Morgan Hall survived a single car crash in Morgan County that claimed the life of her mother, Anna Hall, 44. The crash left the 11 year-old with major injuries and she still has to wear a neck and upper torso brace.

Family friends put on the benefit event because they said Hall's family still has to pay 30% of her medical bills.

Wendell Edmonds, who helped put on the fundraiser, described the girl as a little miracle.

"Morgan is just an amazing young lady. She has pulled through so well and just like God tells us, he would never leave us or forsake us and he hasn't," Edmonds said.

According to a report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Morgan's mother was not wearing a seatbelt during the fatal July crash.
