Neighbors in Harriman celebrated a break from their labors Monday with the 26th annual Hooray for Harriman street party.
The festival included live gospel music performances at the Princess Theatre. Vendors took over city streets to sell food and crafts for the all day party. Community leaders raise money and work for months to put on the event.
"Oh, it just brings everybody together. There's people that's not seen each other since this time last year. You have a lot of people in the community that live so close together but you don't get to see each other a lot. It's just a big sort of a homecoming for the city of Harriman," said organizer Randy Ellis.
The Harriman Police Department estimates close to 1,000 people were in the crowd on Roane Street.
