(WBIR) Drivers on I-75 in Campbell County should expect some delays Wednesday evening.
Crews will be performing blasting operations at the rock fall and slope stabilization project at milemarker 157 near Jellico.
To keep drivers safe, officers will start a rolling roadblock at 6 pm, at exit 134 (Caryville/LaFollette), traveling north at 20-25 mph. The rolling roadblock is estimated to last about an hour.
At 6:25 pm, a rolling roadblock will start on I-75 South in Kentucky at Exit 11 and proceed south into Tennessee at estimated speeds of 30-45 m.p.h. This rolling roadblock is estimated to last approximately twenty minutes.
Between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., the entrance ramps onto I-75 North from Exit 141 (Huntsville/Oneida), Exit 144 (Stinking Creek), and the entrance ramp onto I-75 South from Exit 160 (Jellico) will be closed.
After the blast, the crews will remove debris and make sure he road surface is clear and safe.
Drivers in that area during that time should be alert for sudden slowed or stopped traffic; expect long delays and consider alternate routes.
