Attempts by the state to cut down on long lines at the DMV have failed, largely thanks to computer problems and handgun permit applications.
According to the Tennessean, officials have made improvements in how driver service centers operate but drivers still have to wait a long time.
One of the reasons? An increase in handgun permit applications.
At one center in July, people waited an average of 40 minutes before getting service. Drivers at one center in Nashville waited three hours.
Officials say they hope the setbacks are temporary.
