For the second time in a month, a shooting victim showed up at Knoxville's police headquarters seeking help.
On Tuesday just after 2:00 p.m., KPD officers were called to a shooting at 3923 Ivy Street. Meanwhile, a witness to the shooting picked up the victim and drove him to the Safety Building to get help.
The man, identified as Brandon Cherry, 36, of Knoxville, had been shot once in the torso and was transported to UT Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators believe the shooting happened because of an ongoing dispute between Cherry and another man.
On August 25, another man who had been shot drove to the Safety Building for assistance. Brett Dillard later died of his injuries.
