Body found behind Knoxville church being investigated as homicide

Oct. 19, 2016: Knoxville police are investigating a body they found earlier this week as a homicide.

Knoxville police are now investigating the death of a man whose body was found behind a church Monday as a homicide.

According to KPD, a Priority Ambulance crew was parked at Norwood Church of Christ on Central Avenue Pike when they discovered the body in the woods near the parking lot a little before 11 a.m. Police believe the body had likely been there for a few days.

The man has been identified as Raynard Enlow, 25, originally from Detroit, Mich.

Police say Enlow was reported missing by his father on Oct. 12, and his 2010 Dodge Challenger was recovered by the Maryville Police Department on Oct. 14 after it had been left in a parking lot.

KPD said what they have learned so far in their investigation and the autopsy results have led them to investigate Enlow's death as a homicide. They are not releasing the cause of death at this time.

KPD said they have already interviewed "multiple" individuals as part of their investigation.
