Chattanooga suspect in fatal Labor Day shooting surrenders

CHATTANOOGA - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said a man wanted on its “Top 10 Most Wanted” list is in custody on Wednesday morning.

Stephen Mobley, 32, faces two counts of first-degree murder and turned himself into authorities, according to a TBI tweet.

WRCB reports Mobley and his aunt walked up to a police officer pumping gas, and said he wanted to turn himself in.

Mobley is also known as "Dollar. " He had multiple warrants for his arrest for two counts of first-degree murder, and for attempted first-degree murder. Mobley also has pending charges of two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a felony.

"We do have every reason to believe Mobley shot three people yesterday," Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher said Tuesday.

Chattanooga police identified the victims of the fatal Labor Day shooting as 22-year-old Jasmine Hines and 23-year-old Rashaud Taylor.

A third person was injured in Monday’s shooting, but police have not identified the victim. Fletcher said Mobley and the three victims knew each other.
