Cocke County authoritie seek victim's family

Three months after her killing, the Cocke County Sheriff's Office is still trying to find the family of Suzanne Renee Perez.

Perez, 52, was shot to death July 18. Authorities allege her boyfriend Alfred Terry Brooks, 45, killed her at his Cosby home in an argument.

Brooks is awaiting prosecution on first-degree murder and marijuana making charges.

A neighbor alleges Brooks admitted killing Perez.

"Investigative efforts have been made and will continue to be made to locate the family of (Perez)," a release Tuesday from Cocke County Sheriff Armando Fontes states. "Anyone having information should contact Cocke County Sheriff's Office Detective Robert Thornton."

Perez was 5 feet, 8 inches and had hazel eyes and brown hair. She suffered a gunshot wound to the face.

According to the sheriff, Brooks admitted to authorities he killed Perez.

While searching Brooks' home, deputies allege they found weapons including the weapon thought to have killed Perez as well as several marijuana plants.
