Cumberland Co. teacher charged with vehicular homicide, DUI

A Cumberland County High School teacher has been charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence after a fatal wrong-way crash overnight Thursday.

According to a crash report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Meghan E. Wilson, 36, was driving southbound in the northbound lane of U.S. Highway 127 when she struck a motorcycle head-on.

The incident happened shortly after midnight.

The impact caused the motorcycle driver, 46-year-old John V. Rowe, to be tossed from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the report said.

Debris from the head-on crash struck another vehicle but only caused minor damage to it and no injury to the driver.

Wilson was also not hurt in the crash.

Cumberland County Director of Schools Janet Graham confirmed that Wilson, who is listed as a teacher at Cumberland County High School, is on administrative leave.
