KCSO charges Knoxville man with attempted murder

The Knox County Sheriff's Office arrested a Knoxville man for attempted second-degree murder and reckless endangerment Wednesday.

According to KCSO, the department's Special Investigations Unit took 38-year-old Mitchell Paul Conard into custody without incident at his home on Rouse Lane around 7:10 p.m.

He is charged with attempted second-degree murder and reckless endangerment. The sheriff's office said in a Facebook post the charges resulted from an investigation by their Family Crisis Unit, but did not give any specifics about the case.

The post did note that the Family Crisis Unit investigates cases involving domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, animal abuse and cyber investigations.

Conard is being held in the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on a total $125,000 bond.
