KCSO: Man wrecks in carjacking, search ongoing for second suspect

FARRAGUT - One man is in custody and authorities are searching for a second man following a Thursday night carjacking.

Jaylond Woods, 20, of Lenoir City is charged with carjacking, robbery and two counts of assault.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a second man in the carjacking, which happened in the parking lot of Cool Sports a 110 South Watt Road around 10:45 p.m. Thursday.

KCSO said Woods and the suspect approached a vehicle, assaulted the victims before Woods fled in their vehicle.

Woods wrecked the car a short distance from Cool Sports. KCSO deputies took Woods into custody after he tried running away from the wrecked car.

Authorities are holding Woods in the Roger D. Wilson Dentention Facility on $32,000 bond.

Anyone with information on the second suspect is asked to call the KCSO’s Major Crimes Unit at (865)215-2243.
