Two men are behind bars after investigators say they burglarized a home, then ran from officers.
According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, officers were called to a burglary at a home on Martha Knight Circle just before 10:30 a.m. Monday morning.
An officer spotted the suspect's vehicle a few minutes later on Andes Road, and began a pursuit.
The chase ended when the suspect's vehicle turned onto Carl Valentine Circle. When they realized the road was a dead end, the two men in the car took off on foot and were chased down and arrested by officers.
The men were identified as La Sentell Chandler, 31, and Kipling Colbert, Sr.,40, both of Knoxville. Both men were charged with aggravated burglary with more charges pending.
Chandler's criminal history in Knox County includes possession of burglary tools, theft, simple possession/casual exchange, aggravated burglary, evading arrest, driving offenses, public intoxication, public intoxication, prohibited weapons offense, domestic assault, and criminal impersonation.
Colbert's criminal past in Knoxville includes aggravated burglary, theft, burglary, unauthorized use of a credit/debit card, vehicle or trailer burglary, possession of burglary tools, evading arrest, driving offenses, criminal trespass, simple possession/casual exchange, narcotics: manufacture, delivery, sale, or possession of cocaine, and criminal impersonation.
