KPD: Man finds three burglary suspects in driveway of home

KNOXVILLE - A man arrived at his East Knoxville home on Tuesday afternoon to find his home burglarized and three suspects in his driveway.

The resident attempted to prevent the suspects from leaving by blocking their Lincoln Towncar with his pickup truck at the home on the 5500 block of Nickle Road around 4:23 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

Two of the suspects, Jonathon Stachowiak and Steven Taylor, backed their Lincoln Towncar into the resident’s pickup truck prior to leaving the scene. KPD is still searching for the third suspect, who ran away.

KPD said the resident was not injured.

Stachowiak, 19, and Taylor, 18, both of Knoxville crashed their Towncar after leaving the residence. Knoxville police officers arrested both men shortly afterward.

The two men are each charged with aggravated burglary, theft, simple possession and carrying a prohibited weapon.

Stachowiak is also charged with leaving the scene of an accident, and Taylor also faces possession of drug paraphernalia charge.

KPD found a number of items stolen from the residence inside the Towncar. Authorities also found marijuana.
