KPD: Two men arrested for attempting to solicit sex

KNOXVILLE - Officers with the Knoxville Police Department arrested two men in separate investigations for trying to meet up with 14-year-old girls for sex.

Shane Courtney McCosh, 37, of Knoxville is charged with solicitation of a minor aggravated statutory rape, which is a Class E felony. McCosh is also charged with simple possession of a Schedule VI drug. KPD said officers found marijuana on Hobbs during his arrest.

KPD said McCosh drove to a location with intent of engaging in sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl after exchanging electronic communication. Authorities arrested McCosh around 7:25 p.m. Thursday.

Marcus Christopher Hobbs, 34 of Oak Ridge also faces the felony charge of solicitation of a minor aggravated statutory rape.

A release from KPD said Hobbs drove to a location with intent to engage in sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl.

KPD arrested Hobbs around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities released Hobbs after he posted $20,500 bond. However, authorities are holding McCosh on $30,000 bond.
