Authorities told WLEX that Fabian Hunter Valentine escaped from a rest area on Interstate 64 Friday in Clark County headed eastbound on I-64 toward Montgomery County.

A guard was transporting Valentine from Louisville to Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex in West Liberty when they stopped at the rest stop. While in the restroom, the prisoner overpowered the guard and stole his gun.

He ran out of the restroom, pointed the gun at several bystanders, and took the Tennessee couple's white Hyundai Santa Fe with Tennessee plates.

He is described as a black man about 6-3, weighing about 240 lbs and was last seen in an orange jumpsuit.
