Man accused of killing Zaevion Dobson makes first court appearance Friday

A Knoxville man accused of shooting and killing Zaevion Dobson will make his first court appearance on Friday. 

Christopher Drone Bassett is charged along with Richard Williams III in the Fulton High School teen's death. 

Bassett and Williams III were each charged with first-degree murder, the Knox County District Attorney General's Office announced in August.

In addition, a grand jury indicted each of them with eight counts of attempted first degree murder and a string of firearm possession charges. 

Bassett has been in a state prison in recent months on unrelated weapons charges.

Two Charged with murder in shooting death of Zaevion Dobson

Both are being held on $1 million bond.
