Morristown police launch public crime mapping site

MORRISTOWN LAUNCHES CRIME MAPPING SITE - (WBIR - Hamblen County) The city of Morristown is giving the public easier access to crime data around the area. 

The police department has launched a site to see where and when recent crimes occurred.  

The crime data will be available on a 180 day dataset and be searchable by date, crime type, and address. There's also an option to sign up for e-mail notifications when crimes occur near a home or business.

The police department hopes the easier access to crime data will lead to proactive preventative measures that can reduce crime.
