An East Tennessee group is helping those who need a new health insurance plan sign up under the Affordable Care Act.
Knoxville Area Project Access held an informational walk through Monday in South Knoxville. The group has been hosting sessions around the community. They help walk people through the enrollment process, the potential plans, and the coverage they need.
"We can't direct people to a plan, but we can help them ask the questions that defines what kind of insurance plans they need and then you go through the different options, different plans that are available and they can match what their need is to a particular plan," said Walter Davis, executive director for the Tennessee healthcare campaign.
Volunteers and government aids say they are still having occasional problems with healthcare.gov, but they say it has gotten a lot better.
